Two officers with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office have been fired after they were accused of exchanging inappropriate text photos with a teenage girl.
In a press release, Sheriff Robbie Goins says when he learned of the possible misconduct, he informed the 8th Judicial District Attorney General's Office. They decided to turn the investigation over to the TBI, and Goins terminated the two officers.
TBI says the officers involved are Roger Todd Hatmaker, 34, a School Resource Officer at Jacksboro Middle School, and Auxiliary Officer Steven Todd Miller, 38. They took over the investigation on February 13, and say the two men are accused of exchanging inappropriate electronic photos with the same female student at Campbell County High School.
Neither man has been charged at this time.
Sheriff Goins says his department is fully cooperating with the investigation.
"Our main priority at this point in the early stages of this investigation is to cooperate fully, work together with the Attorney General's Office and the TBI. We have made it abundantly clear; we will not tolerate anything other than pure professionalism and a true work ethic," said Goins.
