South-Doyle High School opened a specialized tutoring center Friday.
School officials held a dedication ceremony for Boyd Center for Academic Excellence on the same day. The new facility will now offer students personalized tutoring.
According to Executive Principal Tim Berry, the center's mission is to help students catch up and assist others looking to get ahead.
"The program is targeting their deficiencies in math and English. So it's very personalized," said Berry. "I think what separates it from a typical tutoring program is that every student will have their own education plan when they come to the tutoring lab."
Boyd Center for Academic Excellence will start by focusing on Algebra 1 and 2, as well as English 1 and 2.
CEO of Radio Systems Randy Boyd made a $14 thousand donation, which made this center possible.
