A daffodil bulb sale over the weekend is working to keep Knoxville beautiful, while preserving the legacy of a local woman who made it her mission.

Maria Compere is responsible for planting millions of daffodils along Pellissippi Parkway. She passed away last month at age 97.

The money raised during this sale will go towards funding her organization "Knoxville Green."

Organizers said everyone who enters the door will go home with 15 flower bulbs for free.

The daffodil sale ends tomorrow. It's open from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Windsor Square Shopping Center in West Knoxville.
