AT&T said in a press release Monday its investment of more than $175 million in the Knoxville area was well worth the cost.
The phone service provider said the majority of its investment went towards its wireless and wireline networks. According to AT&T, those networks will help expand the 4G LTE mobile Internet coverage, while enhancing overall performance.
AT&T said its network kept 99 percent of all Knoxville area wireless calls connected during its fourth quarter of 2012.
Over 2012, AT&T made nearly 325 wireless network upgrades in Knoxville. Those included activating new cell sites, adding capacity, and upgrading cell sites among others.
