An industrial park in McMinn County is the first in the state to receive special recognition for its railway development potential.
CSX announced that the 270-acre North Etowah Industrial Park received its CSX Select Site designation. The criteria is similar to that of a megasite, but on a much smaller scale.
CSX select sites have access to direct railway service from CSX, but they're also located near highways and a skilled workforce.
The designation also confirms the proper utility resources are in place, and the site is ready for development.
There's not word on any possible tenants.
