The future of Vine Middle School was up for discussion among parents and school district officials Thursday night.
The school has not met academic standards in recent years, and Thursday's meeting was the latest in a series of discussions to present ideas and hear from parents. The possibilities include turning the school into a so-called STEAM academy that would focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
Another idea would require faculty to reapply for their jobs. That didn't sit well with some parents.
Officials have previously rejected an idea of turning Vine into a charter school. They're holding another meeting Monday evening at the school to continue the discussion.
