Here's more from the Ice Bears--

The Knoxville Ice Bears won their fourth game in a row in front of a crowd of 2,712 "Hockey Superfans" with a final score of 3-1 over the Fayetteville FireAntz.

Knoxville started the first period in dominating fashion. Early in the period, the Ice Bears spent most of the time occupying Fayetteville ice and at one point outshot the FireAntz 6-1. Knoxville took advantage of a scoring opportunity just 2:10 into the period.
Emery Olauson started a break at center ice with a pass to Peter Neal. Neal zoomed the puck across the zone to Dan Bremner, who sniped a shot past Fayetteville goaltender Kyle Rank which beat him glove side.

The second period continued the high pace action with up and down play in both ends. Halfway through the period, Fayetteville capitalized on a power play opportunity created by a delay of game penalty on goaltender Bryan Hince. Ben Contini placed himself in the right place for a rebound chance and he put the puck in the back of the net.

The Ice Bears looked to have answered with a power play goal of its own but the goal was negated due to a goaltender interference penalty by Captain David Segal.

With the score tied at one heading into the third period, Knoxville stayed on the attack with aggressive offense. Matt Pierce opened the scoring by outworking Rank with a wrap around goal which to proved to be the game winner. Pierce brought the puck around the back of the net and between his legs before wristing it over Rank's shoulder to make the score 2-1 at the 6:10 mark of the period. The assists were credited to Brett Valliquette and Knoxville's newest addition, Ben Souders.

A cross check by Fayetteville's Andrew Smale gave Knoxville a power play which led to a 3 on 2 breakaway. Brendan Taylor chased down the loose puck in front of the net and was able to send it home to put the Ice Bears up 3-1.
