A Bristol man was killed and his father injured in a shooting outside a Pigeon Forge motel at about 6:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Investigators say Justin B. Dillard, 21, and his father, Travis B. Dillard, 47, were registered guests at the motel. They were sitting in a pickup truck in the rear parking lot when a man approached them and asked for money. The suspect then shot the men while they were still seated inside the pickup truck.
Both men were transported to UT Medical Center, where Justin Dillard died and Travis Dillard is in stable condition.
The shooter was described as a black man with dreadlocks wearing a purple shirt and jeans. He is approximately 5"10" tall and weighing approximately 250 pounds. The shooter left the scene in a large white sedan, possibly a Buick.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pigeon Forge Police.
Police are searching for a suspect who shot two men at a Pigeon Forge motel on Sunday.
Pigeon Forge firefighters said it happened at the River South Lodge Motel. According to a Pigeon Forge press release, the suspect approached two men inside a vehicle, asked them for money, and then shot them.
The suspect then took off in a large white sedan.
Authorities aren't releasing any more details at this time.
