On Monday, dozens of East Tennessee middle school students packed their backpacks and became college students for one day.
It's all part of Roane State's "College Student for a Day" program. Organizer Glenda Walls said it gives middle school students a first-hand look at what life could look like after high school.
"This gives students a taste of the different careers, different course offerings, and a lot of times something could spark an interest in them and that's what we're after," said Walls.
During the day, students got a taste of everything from chemistry to graphic arts.
This is the second year Roane State has organized the program.
