Testimony started Monday in a re-trial for a man once convicted of killing a toddler.
Paul Jerome Johnson, Jr. was convicted in July 2010 of felony murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of Joseph Manning. The 18-month-old was the son of Johnson's girlfriend.
Special Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood agreed to give Johnson a new trial last April, after the judge who presided over his original trial admitted to drug abuse while on the bench.
