Three people were taken to the hospital after a driver slammed into a pharmacy in North Knoxville.
Around 1:30 Thursday afternoon, police said Dewey Kidwell, 80, of Coryton, had just picked up his wife from the Elite Beauty Salon on Washington Pike when his gas pedal got stuck.
The SUV flew across the street and smashed through the glass door of Macs Pharmacy, crashing into the counter.
Kidwell was not hurt, but his wife, Ann, was taken to Tennova.
A pharmacy employee, Rhonda Curtis, and a customer inside of the store, Grady Amann, were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The co-owner of the store said they are working on getting Macs Pharmacy open as soon as possible, and said he is thankful everyone is ok.
Two weeks ago, a similar scene unfolded in West Knoxville after a speeding car slammed into The Tomato Head on Kingston Pike, killing a middle school principal.
