More than a year after two Monroe County deputies suddenly resigned, they're now being sued by a former inmate.
Authorities arrested John Wilburn and Thomas Goodman on assault charges last February. A lawsuit filed this week claims that incident involved inmate Randall Carter.
Carter claims the deputies restrained him in a jail cell, then sprayed him with pepper spray and pulled a taser gun. All this happened after Carter was arrested for public intoxication.
He's suing for unspecified damages. The lawsuit also names Monroe County Sheriff Bill Bivins.
