An Oliver Springs man is accused of abusing a 14-month-old boy.
61-year-old David Lambert is charged with aggravated child abuse.
An arrest warrant says Lambert hit the toddler in the face several times while they were inside the Wal-mart store in Oak Ridge.
A witness told police that she heard Lambert tell the child to take a bottle, or he would shove it down his throat.
The witness called police, and they caught up with Lambert a short time later in Oliver Springs.
Police say the child had bruises on his face and head that are consistent with the witness statements.
