Knoxville Police say a driver in a Honda tried to flee the scene after colliding with a car, and then a Police cruiser.
According to a report, it happened just after 2:30 a.m. when Tarayn Ryan ran a stop sign while turning from E. Jackson Ave. onto South Central St.
Officials say Ryan then struck a Honda Civic on South Central St. from behind, and then tried to flee the scene, but instead struck the door of a Knoxville Police cruiser, that was also parked on the street.
Police say Officer Woody Bingham was standing next to his cruiser at the time, and jumped out of the way before the crash. Bingham was not injured, and followed the Honda as it drove away.
Officer Bingham did find the suspect vehicle at the corner of South Central St. and Summit Hill.
Officials say alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
The driver of the parked Civic was in the car at the time of the crash, but was not injured.
There was no immediate word on whether Ryan will face any charges.
