A popular East Tennessee resale store will reopen Thursday after extensive renovations.

McKay's closed its doors last Monday for remodeling. The store is set to reopen Thursday with a different layout and floor, and additional space to sell new items such as instruments, electronics, comics and computer games. The store currently sells books, music, DVDs and video games.

Workers tell us the changes to the store will be a first for the regional chain.

"We're doing our best to make it a little more shopable. As you can see, it's a little less closed in; it's a little more open. There's a little more light. It's easier to get around and shop," said Drew Ragsdale.

It's taken 11 days to do all the renovations. MaKay's has been open since 1985, beginning here in Knoxville, then adding locations in Chattanooga and Nashville.
