MURFREESBORO - A former Titans cheerleader has
been indicted on charges of inappropriately touching and soliciting a
12-year-old for sex at his home in February, according to police.
Elizabeth
"Leigh" Garner, 42, of 806 Highland Park Court in Nashville, was
indicted by a grand jury this month on counts of aggravated sexual
battery and solicitation of a minor for child rape, according to a
Murfreesboro Police report. The Titans confirmed Garner had served as a
cheerleader for three seasons, most recently in 2008.
Police and
the Department of Children's Services investigated the charges after the
boy told his mother he had been molested by Garner in February, the
report said.
The boy told police Garner was at his home drinking and followed him into restroom, according to the report.
"He stated she was asking him if he had ever been with a woman," the report said.
The
boy said she groped him on the outside of his pants. "He also said she
was making an attempt to take his shorts off" and told the boy she would
perform oral sex on him, the report said.
The boy told police he became frightened and was able to get out of the bathroom and tell his mother.
Garner
told police she was drunk the evening of the incident and got the boy
"confused with a man that was also at the residence."
