Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp released new details on Saturday concerning the shootout between a Maryville marine and police earlier this week.

Police said Theodore Jones IV, 27, broke into an empty building, fired a gun at an officer and refused to drop his weapon early Thursday morning.

Chief Crisp said three officers shot Jones 10 times. Two of the officers, Lt. Eddie Davis and Field Training Officer Kyle Mitchell are with the Maryville Police Department. The third officer, Cpl. Gary Perkins is a deputy with the Blount County Sheriff's Department.

Chief Crisp confirmed that all three are still on administrative leave as the department continues its investigation. He said it doesn't appear the officers violated any policies or procedures as of now.
