Goodwill in Knoxville can now serve nearly twice as many people trying to get back in the workforce.
On Thursday, the non-profit opened its newest location in north Knoxville, on Pleasant Ridge Road.
"Most people think of Goodwill, they think of a retail store, and maybe donating. But they don't realize that when they donate or shop at Goodwill, what they're doing is actually funding our vocational training for people with barriers," said Liz Nother, Goodwill's Executive Vice President.
Barriers can be anything from a disability to being down on your luck.
This facility will offer skills training for about 100 people. People also earn a training wage while at the center.
The new training facility is right next to Goodwill's new retail store, the 28th in the Knoxville area.
