Kristi Atchley is an English teacher at Sevier County High School, and Thursday, she shaved her head bald during halftime of the school's soccer game.
Mrs. Atchley promised students she would go bald if they raised $1,000 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Right now, two children in the Sevier County community are being treated at the hospital, including Audrey Stanger.
"We wanted to do a school spirit kind of thing, on top of St. Jude, just to get the school united around the cause. St. Jude is such a wonderful place for children who need help, and we love Audrey so much, and we just want to see her healthy and happy and St. Jude can do that for free," said Mrs. Atchley.
For a chance to be one of the students who actually got to help shave Mrs. Atchley's head, students had to donate at least $20.
