We're starting to see some plants bloom as we move further into spring, and lots of people are wondering, especially with recent cold temperatures, about their plants and their gardens.

Anita Oslund asked, "I have been thinking about putting a garden out. So when should I? I don't want to lose anything I plant."

Great question Anita.

Typically we said to wait until after Tax Day to make sure your garden doesn't wither in cold temperatures. It's tempting now with the warm weather, but you're better off waiting until after April 15th.

That's a general rule of thumb, but there are exceptions. The latest freeze we've ever had was May 4, 1986. Typically, the average last freeze is March 29th, and the average last frost is April 9th.

We could see some temperatures in the 70s this weekend, but again, you might be best holding off just another week or two.
