Update: Firefighters extinguish north Knoxville brush fire

Update 8:14 p.m.

A spokesman with Rural Metro says crews wrapped up fighting a brush fire on the 7000 block of Bull Run Drive Sunday night.

There were no reported injuries.

Update 12:05 a.m.

Rural Metro firefighters and the Tennessee Division of Forestry continued to battle a brush fire in North Knox County late into Sunday night.

At one point, firefighters said the blaze affected 15-20 acres on 7001 Bull Run Drive off Maynardville Highway shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters said as of now, no homes are threatened and no evacuations are underway.

Crews responded to 7001 Bull Run Drive off Maynardville Highway shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters said as of now, no homes are threatened and no evacuations are underway.

Officials said they have not been able to contain the flames as of now, due to the wind.
