A suicide bombing in Afghanistan that killed a soldier with Oak Ridge ties and a U.S. diplomat over the weekend also injured a University of Tennessee graduate.
Kelly Hunt is a Public Diplomacy Officer with the U.S. Department of State. She graduated from U.T.'s School of Journalism and Electronic Media in 2008.
U.T. says Hunt's mother posted a Facebook message that says her daughter was seriously hurt in the blast. She suffered a fractured skull and had surgery to remove fragmentation from her back, legs and hand.
At last check, Hunt was set to be transferred to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for treatment.
