Eating healthier is a goal we're constantly reminded of, but depending on where you live, it isn't always easy to find food that's good for you. Tuesday evening, the Knox County Health Department hosted a community reception on that subject.
A national expert joined leaders from the city and county to talk about improving access to healthy food, from neighborhoods to schools.
"Food access directly relates to a person's health. If we're educating people to eat healthier and that's not a possibility where they live, we need to look at those solutions, to address them," said Michelle Moyers with the Knox County Health Department.
Also discussed at the reception was how exercise and the availability of parks and walking trails contributes to the community's overall health as well.
