According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, a 29-year-old woman was killed when the BMW convertible she was riding in struck a pickup truck head-on Tuesday.
The accident injured driver of the convertible, another passenger in the convertible and the driver of the pickup truck.
The investigating trooper says Jamea N. Gambrell, 50-years-old, of Knoxville was driving her 1997 BMW convertible northbound on Lovell Road when the vehicle crossed over into the path of a 2003 Dodge pickup truck. Gambrell was injured. It is unknown if she was wearing a seat belt. Passenger Krista C. Thomasson, 29-years-old, of Knoxville was killed.
Another passenger, Sierra A. Sullivan, 19-years-old, of Oak Ridge, was
injured. Thomasson was not wearing a seat belt. It is
unknown if Sullivan was.
The Dodge pickup was driven by Jeffery L. Darago, 57-years-old, of Knoxville. He was injured.
Citations and criminal charges are pending.
