A deputy who fired on a suspect last October, killing him, was right to use deadly force, according to the district attorney.
An Anderson County Sheriff's Deputy shot and killed 30-year-old Randall Wilcox of Clinton in October.
Authorities say Deputy Steven Williams was working a traffic stop when Wilcox stopped in a driveway, ran on foot, and the deputy chased him. After a scuffle, Wilcox was shot and killed.
The district attorney's report says Wilcox took the deputy's pistol and attempted to kill him. It says Deputy Williams took appropriate action to defend himself.
