Update 3:30 p.m.

In a press conference Monday at 2:30 p.m., Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam addressed the recent federal investigation into his company.

Haslam said this has never happened to Pilot Flying J before and stressed and he's "confident" the case doesn't involve tax issues. During the press conference, Haslam said his employees "run a tight ship," and the company is conducting its own internal investigation into the matter.

As of now, the company believes the investigation centers around a very small number of customers who said their rebates were not paid, but Pilot Flying J disagrees with the accusations.

Right now all Pilot locations remain open, including the Knoxville corporate headquarters. Haslam said he's confident the issue will be resolved soon.

Eastern District US Attorney Bill Killian confirmed that a total of four search warrants were issued and served to Pilot Flying J.

Pilot Flying J spokesperson Cynthia Moxley confirmed that two search warrants were served to the company's Knoxville headquarters Monday afternoon and late that night.

Haslam said Monday was difficult for the company, but Pilot Flying J appreciates all the support it's received from its trucking company customers.

According to a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, Pilot Flying J does not know details to why the investigation continues, but it's cooperating with the external investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.
