An 11-year-old middle school student is in custody after officials say she admitted to writing a threatening letter that targeted school personnel.
The Blount County Sheriff's Office says the threat happened at Heritage Middle School. Deputies say the student wrote the letter out of anger because she got in trouble at school. The sheriff's office says the girl has no access to any weapons, and no other students were involved.
She's charged with delinquency by civil rights intimidation, and is being held at the Blount County Juvenile Detention Center.
