A McMinn County woman is facing child abuse charges after deputies found her two-year-old son covered in motor oil.

On Monday, deputies responded to an Athens home and found Melissa Tawse. They say she was calling the deputy "a demon seed." During her rant, her two-year-old son came running out of her home dripping in motor oil.

The deputy immediately called DCS who now has custody of the child.

Tawse faces a non-violent charge of child neglect.
