2 cups brown sugar
1 cup margarine
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup cocoa
5 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 pints strawberries - washed, capped, & pureed
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon cornstarchDirections:
Beat sugar, margarine, & vanilla. Add eggs & beat.
Add cocoa & flour alternately with milk. Beat well.
Grease bottoms & sides of cake pans & dust with flour.
Divide dough into pans - about 4-6 ounces per pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Spread strawberry filling between layers & on top and sides of cake.
Cook over medium heat till thickened. about 15 minutes) Remove from heat and add 1 tablespoon dry strawberry jello. Refrigerate till cool. Presented by:
