The city of Niota once again has police presence and fire protection, at least for now.
Last week, the city's insurance company dropped the city's liability policy following harassment complaints against commissioners. Without the policy, Niota had to park its fleet of city vehicles and keep police and firefighters at home for four days. It also closed city parks.
Now, city leaders say the insurance company has given them a 60-day extension while they look for a new insurance company to cover the city.
