A judge has delayed the trials for two Knox County Trustee's office employees accused of theft.

Former trustee Mike Lowe is charged with six counts of theft of more than $60,000 dollars.

Ray Mubarak is charged with four counts of theft of more than $60,000 dollars.

Each charge could carry a sentence of 8 to 12 years in prison.

The two were arrested last April, along with three other former trustee's office employees.

The cases were set to go to trial later this year, but Judge Steven Sword issued a new schedule for the trials on Thursday, saying the large number of documents in the case will require the court to have more time to prepare.

Mubarak's trial is now set to begin on May 12, 2014. Lowe's is set for July 14 of 2014.
