Despite a rough season for the team, Heritage pitcher Trevor Clifton has talent that scouts have noticed.
"One of the best I've seen," said Heritage head coach Robbie Bennett.
Don't take those words lightly. Heritage senior pitcher Trevor Clifton is likely to be selected in Major League Baseball's draft in June and has already signed to play college baseball at Kentucky.
"Every time he throws he's going to get everybody's best," Bennett continued.
Scouts from all 30 major league teams have visited to see him pitch. That's pressure he's had to learn to handle.
"I was nervous," Clifton admitted.
Clifton's velocity is what everyone comes to see, and what catcher Gavin Smelcer has had to adjust to.
"I have to speed up my mechanics when I catch him," Smelcer said.
Clifton has been clocked up to 95 miles-per-hour on the radar gun. He'll make his decision on whether to play pro ball or go to college by July.
