A Rogersville man charged with DUI told deputies he had been drinking "12, 14, 24 or 48 beers," according to a report from the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office.
Thirty-six-year-old Andy Joshua Derrick was arrested Saturday.
According to the arrest report, a deputy saw two cars stopped in a turn lane on Highway 66.
One of the drivers told the deputy the other driver was asleep.
When the deputy found Derrick, they said he had slurred speech and his eyes were closed.
The deputy arrested him after he failed sobriety tests.
