Around 60 staff members at Sarah Moore Greene Elementary must re-apply for their positions.
It's part of a full, school reconstitution for the upcoming school year.
The only group who won't have to re-apply is the elementary school's administration, including the two assistant principals and the principal.
Principal Reggie Mosley made the recommendation for this move, and Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre signed off on it.
Mosley says interviews started Wednesday, and he hopes to have his staff in place by mid-June
Vine Magnet Middle School is also in the midst of its reconstitution. All of its staff is currently going through the re-application process.
In March, Dr. McIntyre also announced the school has a new principal. Cindy White will take over as principal beginning at the end of this school year. She's currently the principal at Karns Middle School, a position she's held since 2009.
For some perspective, four other Knox County schools have gone through a reconstitution: Austin-East High School, Fulton High School, Green Magnet Math & Science Academy and Maynard Elementary.
