Some Anderson County students got to put Newton's third law to the test on Friday.
Second through fifth graders at Dutch Valley Elementary have been working for months, designing their own rockets in art class.
And Friday was launch day!
This project got off the ground with a little help from TVA. The school received a $1000 dollar science grant.
"We won the science scholarship and were able to purchase rockets...the rocket kits for our school so everyone gets to build a rocket today at Dutch Valley so we're very happy that TVA worked with us and were able to do this for our school," said art teacher Lora Kay Pope.
Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade students had the chance to watch the launch, and even got to push the button.
