An East Tennessee family says it is still searching for their son who went missing three years ago.
KPD believes South Knoxville resident, Derek Funk, 19, had left a friend's house in Powell just before he disappeared May 12, 2010.
Derek's parents, Tricia and Kevin, say they believe foul play led to his disappearance.
They say Funk, who was a talented welder, would never leave without telling them where he was going.
"It would be wonderful if Derek walked through the front door today," Tricia Funk said.
The recent discovery of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight in Cleveland has given the Funk family hope that one they too will find out what happened to their son. However, they say they are not sure if he is still alive.
"It just doesn't seem realistic in our case, but we still hold on to hope," Tricia Funk said.
If you know have any information as to what happened to Derek, the family asks that you call the Knoxville Police Department at 865-215-6883. The family has offered a $10,000 reward to the person who comes forward with information leading to the whereabouts of Derek, his body or for the evidence leading to the conviction of the person responsible for his absence.
