Update 9:09 a.m. Wednesday

(WBIR-Morristown) A 26-year-old man is behind bars charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of his 52-year-old father in Morristown according to a police spokesman.

Kenneth "Danny" Robertson was shot in the chest with a 9mm handgun at his home in south Morristown around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Danny Robertson died during the night at Morristown Hamblen Hospital shortly after he arrived by ambulance.

Robertson's son, 26-year-old Daniel Robertson is being detained in the Hamblen County Jail. He is charged with second degree murder.

The Morristown Police Department says they have a suspect  in custody related to a shooting that sent one Morristown man to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to a press release, 52-year-old Kenneth D. Robertson was shot in the chest around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.  The shooting happened at a house on Jarnigan Avenue.

Robertson was taken to Morristown Hamblen Hospital with what police are calling life-threatening injuries.

In a press release, a Morristown Police Spokesman said police had a suspect in custody.  The suspect was being questioned Tuesday night.
