A weekend-long festival in Greeneville celebrated gospel music, dancing, food, and fun.
The bad weather held out for most of the day Sunday for the 19th annual Iris Festival in Greene County. A lot of residents made the trip out to hear gospel music and hits from past decades. They also enjoyed dancing, food, and family-friendly fun.
The Iris Festival is a way for local vendors to get out and show off their products to the community.
"They're really great with us. Everybody came out and it was a great crowd," said Ruth Wells with Initials, Inc. "Everybody loved what we're doing. Everyone was happy. We just loved it."
The festival ended with the naming of the "Miss Iris Festival Queen." It features girls from several age groups that show the true spirit of the community.
