Knoxville has yet another new radio station.

Thursday morning, WNOX switched to 93.1 "Classic Hits." Previously it played country music.

The station will now play all the popular radio hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Core artists include Elton John, Rod Stewart, The Eagles, Hall and Oats, and dozens more.

Journal Broadcast Group launched the new radio station at 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Radio DJ, Frank Murphy, said, "It's kind of feel good music, fun stuff, stuff you can listen to for a long time and they call it "classic hits" because these songs were all hits on the radio at that time. We kind of have a rock n' roll hits type format."

Country music can now be found on 100.3.
