I love a good garage filled with a hidden treasures or trying to find something special in an antique store. So, when Greg called me to see if I wanted to go toy picking with him, I was all over it.
Greg is what you might call a Toy Picker, he specializes in vintage toys, which I sadly noticed was toys that are about my age. Sigh. These things happen. Good thing is I sort of knew what we might be looking for.
So Photographer JJ and I went to an undisclosed location for a "pick" that he had set up. He knew the owner, but had never been allowed inside this particular place. SCORE!! Now I'm as excited as a kid in a candy store.
Needless to say, it looked like a reality show in there. Boxes here and there, bags on the floor and toys as far as the eye could see... that's when the potato bug in me lit up.. puzzles, Strawberry Shortcake.. is that CAPTAIN KANGAROO?? I think Greg might have told me to breathe at one point and all I could hear was Photographer JJ laughing at my glee in seeing toys from my childhood all around us.
I should probably mention that the Shaun Cassidy doll might have been my favorite.. duh doo ron ron ron
I did haggle and get a Fisher Price bus for $10. Little memories now sitting on my desk.
