Kick off your Memorial Day weekend with some good music at Market Square's Thursday Night Concert Series. This week's performer is Kelsey's Woods. It's a fun, it's free and it starts at 7pm.

James Sibley has been making people laugh all across the country. He's in Knoxville this weekend and you don't want to miss it. James is joined Saturday by Doug Benson, famous for his stints on Comedy Central and NBC's Last Comic Standing. For tickets and showtimes go to www.sidesplitterscomedy.com.

The Tennessee Smokies are home this weekend against the Huntsville Stars. It's not just baseball you have to look forward to for example, Friday night is Star Wars night and Fireworks Friday. For more info check out www.smokiesbaseball.com.

The Shed starts their weekend with Leon Russell and special guest Otis Gibbs on Friday. Russell has played with everyone from Joe Cocker to the Rolling Stones. Saturday enjoy Shooter Jennings and Triple Crown. You'll also have a chance to catch Kelsey's Woods if you missed them Thursday. Both shows start at 8pm.

You'll find more than rides this weekend at Dollywood's Barbecue & Bluegrass Festival. Along with mouth-watering barbecue, the park will be flooded with the sounds of the south. This Saturday and Sunday enjoy two free concerts from Ricky Skaggs.   

Beat the heat on Saturday by heading under ground for a tour of Cherokee Caverns. Old Fashioned Lantern Tours will be held from 10am to 4pm with admission set at $8.

Make your way to Lenoir City Park on Saturday for Rockin' the Docks. This all day festival takes place on Fort Loudon Lake and includes live music, food, fireworks and fun for the kids.

The Palace Theater in Maryville will host Blue Moon Rising on Saturday. Catch the latest tracks off their new album "Blue Side of the Moon". Tickets are $20. Show starts at 7:30pm.

The Square Room's intimate setting is the perfect place to enjoy the sounds of Matthew Perryman Jones Saturday night. Stop by early for some great food at Cafe 4. Tickets are $15 in advance. Show starts at 8pm.

Also, Young Williams Animal Center has a special Memorial Day weekend discount on adoption fees. Get $50 of fees for puppies and kittens and $25 of adult cats and dogs.
