Gibbs High School celebrated its centennial anniversary on Friday. Graduates new and old gathered to visit, learn more about their school's history, and see what the building looks like today.

One grad says over the years, things have changed.

"Our lunches cost five cents and we had a cafeteria and we went through the line and had just a vegetable plate," said Willie Clapp Lester, class of 1943.

Lester says Friday was the first time she's been back at Gibbs High since her graduation day. Lester now lives in Chattanooga, and says she just had to make the trip from the 100th anniversary.

"Oh I wanted to see everybody. I wanted to see if I could recognize any of my classmates," she said.

She says some of her favorite memories of high school were of her teachers who she says made learning fun.
