A building at the Pro Tech Finishing plant in Vonore caught fire Sunday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m., firefighters arrived to find thick, black smoke coming from one building.
The Vonore Fire Department extinguished the fire out by 10 a.m. They said the fire started on the factory floor. The cause is still under investigation.
The extent of the damage is unknown, but the firefighters were able to contain the flames.
The Monroe Haz-Mat crew responded because the plant works with chemicals.
According to their website, Pro Tech Finishing works with the Aerospace, Industrial, Medical and Government fields to provide metal finishing. The plant is 40,000 square feet and sits on 10 acres in Monroe County.
