Tens of thousands of music lovers will pack into a 700-acre farm in Manchester for the Bonnaroo Music Festival starting Thursday.
Tennessee Highway Patrol and Tennessee Department of Transportation said they're prepared for the surge of visitors and have new traffic control plans this year.
For the first time, TDOT will reduce the speed limit on I-24 to 55 miles-per-hour, hoping to reduce accidents.
Last year, TDOT and THP together worked more than 7,200 man hours, 29 accidents and wrote nearly 1,100 tickets. They said the most common citations were seatbelt violations and speeding tickets.
The two agencies are urging festival-goers to buckle up and slow down because all the visitors in the area.
