(WBIR-Knoxville) The American Association for Cancer Support gave a Kingston woman, battling stage-4 breast cancer, a much-needed gift on Tuesday at UT Medical Center.

Melinda Smith, 42, has four kids who live at home. While juggling the demands of being a mother, she has undergone rigorous treatments over the past several years.

She said the computer will make a big difference for her family.

"I've gotten to where I can't drive very well," said Smith. "And so my children are able to have their own computer at home now, so that we don't have to try to make it to a library during their hours and stuff because we only had an hour or two after school to be out and make it to the library. So this helps a lot."
