Knoxville drivers will notice several road work projects this week, mostly at night.
Perhaps the most obvious one is repaving work taking place on Broadway. As of Wednesday evening, much of the work was finished as crews spent the last two nights laying down new asphalt between I-640 and Hall of Fame Drive. They hope to have the work completed by Thursday night.
Drivers say they're looking forward to the end result.
"I think it's a street that definitely needed repaving. It's just kind of an inconvenience currently; it'll be nice when it's done though," said Ian Goodman.
Also, beginning Wednesday night, there's a resurfacing project on Kingston Pike between Northshore and North Winston Road in the Bearden area. It will take place Sundays through Thursdays from eight in the evening to six in the morning.
Crews will be working on I-640 starting Thursday night through next Wednesday. You can expect some lane closures between Broadway and East Knoxville from seven at night to six in the morning.
Finally, KUB plans utility work on Middlebrook Pike where it crosses beneath I-40 near downtown. That work will start Saturday and last through late July. Only one lane will be open each day, 24 hours a day.
