It was a rough start for thousands of East Tennesseans this morning after their power went out just before 6:30 a.m.
WBIR was told that a transformer in the primary substation for Morristown Utility tripped, knocking out power to 21,000 people.
That failure knocked out power for customers with Holston Electric and Appalachian Utility districts.
The utilities affected were able to re-route power from other substations.
The problem at the substations was corrected and it was back on-line by 10:45 a.m.
