Pastor's home burglarized while he lead church service

(WBIR - Baxter, KY) Pastor Jeff Mills' home was broken into Sunday evening while he and his family were in church service.

Past Mills said after leading a baptism service at his church, Cornerstone Community Church, he and his wife returned to their home, which is located on the church's property, and realized many of their valuables were stolen.

"About $1,000 cash, a shotgun, a cell phone, eight watches. I had a bucket of change. They got my change, my wife's prescription medication, and they just went through my drawers. They came in the house and just went through my stuff," said Pastor Mills.

Pastor Mills said he believes the burglar knew he and his family were in church service and therefore decided to target the Baxter, KY home.

Pastor Mills said he forgives the intruder, but still wants the person / persons to face consequences.

"I don't have vengeance and I would like to see them get their life straight," Pastor Mills said.

Pastor Mills said Kentucky State Police have not yet made an arrest, but said there are suspects.

Since the burglary, Pastor Mills has taken several security measures.
