A Knoxville Police Department spokesperson says no one was seriously hurt during a late-morning crash along I-640W near I-40W in West Knoxville.
The wreck happened Tuesday at I-640 Westbound near I-40. It involved a semi-truck and a sedan. KPD said the Nissan Sentra hit a large puddle of water, hydroplaned and went underneath the trailer portion of the semi-truck that was traveling west.
The driver of the Sentra had to be extricated from the vehicle by members of the Knoxville Fire Department. The driver and her passenger were transported to UT Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
KPD says all vehicle occupants were wearing their seat belts and no charges will be filed.
