Fire destroys mobile home on 2116 Happy Creek Road in Seymour.
(WBIR-Seymour, Walden's Creek) Several fire departments responded to two different fires Tuesday morning in Sevier County.
Sevier County dispatchers said firefighters responded to a vacant mobile home fire on 934 Seagul Hollow Road in the Walden's Creek area shortly after 7 a.m. Walden's Creek, Sevier County, Wears Valley, Pigeon Forge and Seymour fire departments together worked to extinguish blaze at the home. They said no one was injured in the incident.
Seymour Fire Department responded to a second mobile home fire at 2116 Happy Creek Road in Seymour shortly before 9 a.m. Firefighters said children and at least one parent were inside the mobile home when the fire started. Fortunately, fire alarms alerted the family, and they were all able escape the home without any injuries. The mobile home is a complete loss.
When firefighters arrived at the residence, they said the mobile home was fully engulfed. It took crews several hours to extinguish the flames and hot spots. Northview, Sevier County and Pigeon Forge fire departments assisted Seymour Fire Department.
Seymour Fire Department said the Sevier County Sheriff's Office is investigating what sparked the two fires.
